Excellent care requires excellent people
Every person in our Practice is essential to your care so we endeavour to recruit, train and retain the best people. Everyone who joins us understands our expectations and receives regular training and personal development to ensure we all share the same ethos of putting our patients at the heart of everything we do.
By providing a caring environment for everyone, we engender loyalty. As the saying goes – we don’t expect loyalty, we earn it. Our practice is part of Rodericks Dental, a company with over 65 practices across the country. We are different because our company is run by dentists – for patients.
I graduated in 1993 after a wonderful training at Manchester Dental School. I have worked in general dental practice ever since as I enjoy seeing my regular patients. I believe strongly in the significant contribution that oral health can make to general health and confidence. I volunteer regularly in Tanzania with the dental charity Bridge2Aid which provides training in emergency dentistry – this fuels my enthusiasm for our NHS. As a Training Programme Director I work with recently qualified colleagues, arranging postgraduate courses and these youngsters keep me on my toes and hopefully up to date. I have postgraduate qualifications in clinical dentistry, teaching and sedation. I count myself fortunate to work with such skilled and genuinely lovely colleagues in a beautiful part of the world.
I qualified from Leeds Dental School in 2010 then completed my Vocational Training year at Chipping Manor Dental Practice. Following this I worked as A Senior House Officer in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery for a year at the Royal Gwent Hospital, before returning to Chipping Manor at both the Cirencester and Wotton Practices as an Associate Dentist. In 2012 I gained an MJDF qualification from the Royal College of Surgeons and intend to pursue further qualifications in General Dentistry. Outside of work I am actively involved in the Charity Bridge2Aid, going on two Dental Volunteer Programs in 2012 and 2014. I also enjoy open water swimming, taking part in the 5k Great North Swim for the last few years, and playing netball in a league in Bristol.
With a name like Gareth Thomas you can probably guess I’m originally from Wales but I qualified from Leeds University in 2014. After qualifying I decided to venture back down south and have been with Chipping Manor since 2014. I like to keep up to date with all aspects of general dentistry but I have a keen interest in cosmetic & aesthetic dentistry. Currently I am undertaking various courses to develop my skills further including the MJDF examination to gain membership to the Royal Collage of Surgeons of England. Outside of work I enjoy all types of sport, especially rugby and I try to get away on a skiing holiday once a year.
I qualified in 1987 and have been working at Chipping Manor since it opened in 2002. I’m passionate about oral health and the impact good oral health has on a person’s general health and well being. My spare time I share with my family and my dogs.
I have worked at Chipping Manor since 2005. I gained my BDS qualification in India in 1998 and attained the MFDS Diploma from the Roal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow in 2004. I believe in a preventative and minimally invasive approach to dentistry and really understand the needs of the anxious patient. I am now an examiner for the MJDF qualification and am also joint trainer for the Foundation Dentists that train at our practice which I find incredibly rewarding.
Christian completed his dentist training at the University of Bristol. Subsequently, he specialised in orthodontics at The Royal London Hospital and completed his Orthodontic Consultant training in Bristol and Bath. Christian currently works as a consultant in Bristol Dental School and Southmead hospital.
Janet has been working as a part time hygienist at Chipping Manor since April 2014. Janet is a patient, gentle and thorough hygienist who is passionate about helping patients improve their oral health, believing strongly in the links between better oral health and general health and well being of patients. In her spare time, Janet is a home checker for rehoming animals.
I qualified from Cardiff Dental School in 2012 and completed my Foundation training with Chipping Manor Dental Practice.
I completed further training as a Senior House Officer at Guys Hospital in London, in both Restorative dentistry and Oral surgery.
In 2014, I gained the MJDF diploma from the Royal College of Surgeons in London.
I have a passion for further developing my skills and knowledge and I have under gone further postgraduate training. I recently completed a year long programme with Chris Orr, gaining a certificate in Cosmetic and Advanced Restorative Dentistry. I have since developed a special interest in minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry.
I also have an interest in teaching and have been invited to lecture to the younger generation dentists – including topics such as photography and cosmetic dentistry.
This year I have been short listed for 2 awards as Best Young Dentist South 2017 in the annual Dentistry and Private Dentistry awards.
